Membership Information

The Itasca County Resort & Tourism Association has been serving the tourism industry since 1984.  Our objective is to promote development of the tourism industry in Itasca County, Minnesota and the surrounding area.

In an effort to promote Itasca County as a major, Minnesota  tourism destination the largest majority of our budget goes directly into promoting our members through our website and print advertising.  We are proud that our website - www.northwoodsminnesota.com is one of the highest traffic tourism information websites in the area with more than 375 site visitors per day.

Our Board of Directors is made up of members elected to two-year terms.  You can be assured that our primary focus is to direct tourism dollars into Itasca County and, specifically, to our member businesses.

Benefits of ICRTA Membership

The Board of Directors of the Itasca County Resort & Tourism Association cordially invites you to become a member of the only open membership organization in Itasca County solely dedicated to promoting the tourism industry in our area. The benefits of ICRTA Membership include:

• A free yellow-pages style Business Listing with website link on the ICRTA’s website: www.northwoodsminnesota.com or www.icrta.com under one Category Heading. The listing includes your business name, address and phone numbers AND a website link to your own business website. The ICRTA’s website is one of the highest traffic tourism information websites in the area, with more than 375 site visitors per day so your business listing is sure to be seen.

• Additional listings under other category headings are available for $15 per listing.

• ICRTA Email Alerts regarding issues that affect Itasca County’s Tourism Industry.

• Voting Rights at all membership meetings.

• Sponsorship Opportunities at general and special membership meetings. Sponsorship allows you to market your services to the membership at large. Sponsorship fees range from $200 to $400.

• Valuable opportunities to network with a community of business owners focused on increasing tourism and revenue in Itasca County.

• Access to the Website Specials program. For an annual fee of $30, members can advertise their own special offers on our website and have direct access to change the special themselves as often as they wish.

• Reduced Advertising Rates in any and all publications produced by the ICRTA.  For advertising information, contact ICRTA Secretary Rita Onraet at 218-832-3678.

• Your membership investment directly helps bring tourism dollars into the County by providing the ICRTA with much needed marketing dollars that are leveraged with grants to advertise Itasca County tourism opportunities to potential visitors.

ICRTA Membership Dues

• Annual Membership Dues are $200 for lodging properties and $100 for non-lodging properties. The organization's fiscal year runs October 1st thru September 31st.

• Additional listings under other Business Categories can be purchased for a nominal annual fee of $15 per listing.  For example a resort with a campground would pay $200 membership dues and could buy an additional listing for their campground under the "Campgrounds" business category for $15.  Note:  In order to qualify for an additional heading the two businesses must be considered one business, i.e. file taxes under one Tax I.D. number.

• We also offer an Internet Specials program that give participants a way to post timely information about promotions or events on www.northwoodsminnesota.com.  The $30 annual fee provides each participant with password access to a web page that allows self-service input and control of a special offer either daily, or within a date-range. Offers automatically expire based on the termination date selected.

ICRTA Board of Directors

The nine Board of Directors positions are held by ICRTA members who are elected to two-year terms by the membership.  Elections take place each October during our annual meeting.  Members are invited and encouraged to participate on any of our sub-committees including:  Marketing, Programs/Promotions, Governmental Affairs, or Ad-Hoc.  Anyone interested in participating can contact the Board member who chairs the sub-committee of interest.
